Jack and Jills Children Center mission is to break the cycle of poverty for children of low-income working families in Broward County through the provision of family-oriented child care services and family intervention and support.

Jack & Jill Children's Center was established in 1942 and is Broward County's oldest non-profit provider of early childhood education. Open year-round, the center provides high quality early childhood education accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Providing services daily from 7:15am to 5:45pm, the curriculum supports the cognitive, social, emotional and physical development of children. Jack & Jill's mission is to provide the highest quality of educational and developmental support services for children and their families - "To break the cycle of poverty for children of low-income working families in Broward County through family-oriented child care services and family intervention and support."

Their focus is to enable children to grow emotionally, physically and socially in a safe, caring environment using age-appropriate methods for cognitive growth while also serving the needs of working parents and embracing and supporting not only the child, but the entire family. An equally important component of Jack & Jill's mission is to provide the tools, training and resources that enhance the ability of parents and caregivers to foster their child's healthy growth and development thereby reducing the risk of abuse, neglect, and long term poverty. This is done through a strong partnership and understanding between families and the Center; requiring accountability and commitment.

To date Jack & Jill has served more than 13,000 families and is able to serve up to 170 children ages six weeks to 5 years. All families are held accountable by requiring them to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and pay a portion of their child's tuition. Through a holistic approach involving quality early childhood education, family support, nutrition, health and preventative services, Jack & Jill reverses the staggering consequences of poverty on children, stabilizing their fragile families and assisting parents in raising children who become productive, welfare-free citizens of our community.
